Lucky Misfire [for elans]
The parts of him that were practical and still very much tactically minded were screaming at him that this rendezvous was a bad idea. Bucky honestly had no idea who this Tammy girl was, and what she wanted other than what he hoped he'd interpreted from their texts. But he was a free man now, a person in a way he hadn't been for decades, and if he was going to make a mistake, it was going to be his mistake, dammit, and no one else's.
But it didn't feel like a mistake. Bucky had always believed he had good instincts with women, and his track record before and during the war seemed to bear that out. And Tammy didn't feel like things were going to go south. If they did, he'd be ready, of course.
The hotel he'd given her the address to was nice enough to be comfortable, but not so extravagant that it would make a stir, either with anyone who might spot him or the bean counters who'd see his expenses. At the knock on the door, Bucky confirmed through the peephole, then opened the door.
"Hi," he offered, waving his hand for the woman to enter.

Sure one of her friends suspected she was meeting someone, she was after all working as her cover up story with her family, but had no idea who she was meeting. And well Tammy didn't at first, she had kept her promise of not google him, but she had friends and they talk and being in New York it was impossible not to hear of the resident heroes.
It didn't detered her from meeting him, but maybe she should have mentioned her age, she wasn't sure if that was going to be an issue or not. She was pondering about it, when she suddenly found herself knocking the door and being invited inside.
"Hey." Good, her voice didn't sound nervous and stepped inside. "Didn't make you wait long right?"
no subject
He shook his head. "No, not at all. I'm glad you could make it."
Locking the door behind her, he waved at the small couch and the single chair the modest room had to offer for seating. "Get comfortable, I guess. I don't really have anything to offer to drink except water." He definitely hadn't noticed any shock on the girl's face on seeing him, so he figured she had realized who he was after all.
"You can, uh, call me Bucky."

It was a bit odd that she didn't felt more nervous about this meeting, it had after all more than implied the reason they were meeting today. She was as calm as the circumstances allowed and well they were here already.
With a small nod she slid the strap of her messenger bag, leaving it on the chair, before taking a seat on the couch. "Actually I wouldn't mind some water."
It was her turn to be surprised and she hoped it didn't show in her face, "I... alright, thank you, Bucky."

After a few seconds of silence, he found himself chuckling.
"Okay, so how do we make this a little less awkward?" Bucky asked with a smile.
no subject
His question really didn't surprised, but she did took the time to ponder on her answer.
"Well I guess we could talk more or I don't know, set ground rules or what we want from this meeting."
no subject
He leaned forward a little, ready to listen.

And with basics, well, mostly his full name and that he was/is Captain America best friend and an Avenger. She knew there was more, mostly the story of what happened after THE mission during the war, but she had detached herself from that conversation and hadn't dared to actually look for.
"Well, I'm not that interesting, to be honest. I live with my uncle, aunt, and younger brother, I like reading a lot, I will be attending NYU in the fall." And really her life wasn't that interesting. "...Just a typical eighteen-year old I guess."
And here was the open in the case her age was an issue for him, which she kind of hoped it wasn't but she will respect if it was.

He was surprised to hear that Tammy was just eighteen, but the number didn't faze him. She was of age, even if just barely, and from what he could tell, perfectly mature and responsible enough to make her own decisions.
no subject
"So what about you?" And she's aware he doesn't have a normal life, but he must have free time. "I mean asides from the known facts."
no subject
It was a simple, but honest and succinct way of putting it. But he had a feeling that Tammy was the kind of person who'd get why he didn't think it needed elaborating. After all, he wanted her to think of him as a person, not... whatever an Avenger was.

It's not as if was commiting a crime for helping out, carefully she fucked a strand of hair behind her ear and bit her lower lip. "So...what do you like to do in these kind of situations?"
no subject
He smiles at Tammy's question. "I've never actually met someone the way I met you, Tammy. I suppose we should see if we like each other's company enough that this will be more than just a hello between people who've texted." At that, he got up and sat beside the girl, seeing how she reacted to his closeness.
no subject
"Well, that makes the two of us." She responded back with a smile of her own, sure she had texted with others but never for this specific purpose or due to the nature of the text she got. When he sat beside her, her smile widened a bit and she even shifted closer to barely brush against his side. "And how do you propose we find that out?"
no subject
His arm rose and then curled around the girl's shoulders in a classic gesture. "Are you opposed to a little kissing?" Bucky offered, figuring that one of them might as well just jump in with both feet. His head tilted a few inches towards Tammy's, but didn't go further, giving her the opening to close the distance if she wanted.
