He might not be a brainwashed, ice-cold, ruthless and remorseless killing machine anymore, but Bucky's not an idiot and he doesn't let go of some old habits. Maybe there are eyes and ears on his new apartment building and maybe there aren't, but he's not about to be caught flat-footed when one of the many people and governments he's pissed off in the last seven decades comes a'knocking. Which means the roof sensors go off, and so does the one on the access door, leading Bucky to be leaning in towards the peephole, a gun in one hand.

Seeing Jessica on the other side, he returns the piece to its hiding place, unlocks the door and opens it up. "C'mon in," Bucky says, without preamble, and moves aside.

He takes her in as she takes in the apartment. Bucky's actually managed to secure two units and knocked down the wall between them himself. And while it's clear that the building might be almost a century old, his place is clean and neat, if more than a little spartan when it comes to furnishings.

Bucky glances at the bottle in her hand. "You bring that to share?"
